24 x 24 x 48 enclosure a bit wobbly

I just moved Ziggy up to the bigger enclosure. In general I am very pleased with it, other than having to us a step stool to work on the top...but that is my vertical challenge to deal with.

I was wondering if anyone has ever added any cross bracing to these aluminum screen enclosures? I find when I open the door it is just a bit wobbly and doesn't open smoothy and I feel that if I added some cross bracing on the sides and maybe the door it might improve that.

Any thoughts and past experience would be most welcome

Probably the most effective way to go an cage like that would involve some sheet metal screws, a drill and some wire (small picture frame wire would work great). First you start on a side or the back. Make sure your drill bit is smaller then your sheet metal screws. Drill a hole in each corner and insert a screw into each hole, but not all the way, you need some space to attack the wire to. Then run the wire from corner to corner. Don't have any slack in the wire, but if you try pulling it to tight you could bend the aluminum cage. I have the repti breeze 24x24x48. Make sure it is sitting on a solid flat surface is a big help also.

Thats part of the problem I think. I am using the substrate tray that I got from DIY below it and its kind of sittling on the edges of that. I think thats nto helping. I was thiinking of getting some wood to frame underneath to stabilize it make a kind of grid for it to sit on that might help.

Thanks so much

I replace all the original screws with stainless screws that are just slightly larger than the originals. also, be careful as to overtightening. it can offset the cage and cause it to become slighly out of alignment. but yes, they can feel a little flimsy.
