is this too hot for my male 4 month veiled? I've tested with a digital probe that reads 87.4 and with a laser thermometer and it says 85. He has many othe levels of vines and branches under the basking bulb to go to if needed. 87 seems a bit high in temp but how accurate is it since I've tested the area with two diff types of thermometers and two different readings. Am I overthinking this one. He's very active eats great seems happy should I leave it alone?

It isn't too hot, but it could be a bit lower if you are concerned. You can test the accuracy of thermometers by using ice water. Fill a cup half way with ice, fill to top of ice level with cold water and stir. The temp will be 32 degrees Fahrenheit. Point the laser (sudden urge to use air quotes and say this with emphasis) at the surface.

I hope my Dr. Evil reference wasn't wasted here...
