Posted a picture in a Facebook forum and someone said she did. The soonest I can get her to a vet is Monday night. She's not eating, so I know she's not getting the proper vitamins that she should be getting. We just switched to a reptibreeze hood lamp with a 10.0 bulb. Is there anything I should be doing in the mean time other than making sure she's hydrated?

gut load her food very well with high calcium veggies or repashy gut load or both. you can also take her out in the sun during the day to help her get UVB rays. So sorry to hear about your girl, would you mind posting a picture so I can see how bad it is?

I just took this an hour ago. I'm actually planning on talking to my boss to see if I can go into work late on Wednesday so I can bring her in.

that would be a good idea. the sooner the better. It doesn't look too severe, you are very lucky to have caught it before it became really bad. Wishing your girl a quick and full recovery!

I'm currently setting up a "hospital" enclosure for her so I don't have to worry as much while I'm at work about her falling.

Although sunlight will help her to produce D3 it won't help correct the MBD because she needs adequate calcium in her system so that the D3 can work to put it back into her bones.

Most people recommend using a liquid calcium like calcium sandoz or calcium gluconate to increase the calcium levels and once everything is back in balance it's important to feed/gutload the insects properly and make sure the temperature in the basking area is correct and that the supplements are being done right to keep it from returning.

The 10.0 uvb light honestly would do more harm than good in my opinion unless you have the correct sized cage and correct set up etc. Artificial uvb is more harmful for chameleons the higher you go because though it does produce more uvb rays it also produces far more harmful uv rays as well. I honestly recommend just taking her out for 30 minutes a day or more if you can. You can do it while you are getting ready for work etc. I made a makeshift cage for Ryker that he can easily climb on the sides, the branches inside, and has foliage to get in and out of the sun. I leave him out for hours at a time on his own.

I'd be afraid someone would steal her :/ but I do have a 5.0 bulb that it came with. Otherwise I could sit in the sun with her.

Put the 5.0 in it, and just sit outside with her for 30 minutes or more if you can once a day. I mean even being outside with her while you still do work of type will help extremely. I recommend doing it for the rest of her life as often as possible. Of course she still needs her calcium etc, and so liquid calcium will be needed to be prescribed for a bit but she is definitely a milder case. It may take a couple months or so for her to get back where she needs to be, but in general chameleons heal very slowly.

How long have you used the 5.0 bulb? If longer than 6 months get a new one. The UV production drops off a lot after 6 months of use even though the light still works. IMHO, I would get a new 5.0 bulb regardless, as you know she's dealing with MBD.

Literally just bought the hood lamp with the 5.0 bulb the other day.
