A Chameleon Keeper Once More

Wow, it's happened again. I haven't owned a chameleon since my wife and I stopped breeding back in about 2001 or so. But we've discussed it for years and eventually planned to keep panthers again, especially now that we have kids and they're interested in the little buggers.
So today while looking on Craigslist for a terrarium to house a bearded dragon (yet to be purchased), I saw an ad for a blue bar ambilobe needing to be rehomed. He's 2 years old and came from a local breeder, apparently (Epic Chameleons). The fee was very reasonable considering he came with a full set up including an automatic misting system which was quite rare when I was breeding.
So here I am, back in the game! He's here at work with me now and I'm going to surprise my wife and kids with him when I get home.

Welcome back! You don't know me, in fact I don't even know if the forums were around then, but that was the first time I got into keeping Chams. So congrats on your find and we can't wait to see pics! P.S. I love the spelling of your name. My daughter's name is Aeryn. (Pronounced "Erin")

Thanks everyone. It worked out great. I took Michi into the house on my hand. My wife was still at work (it's really her present) so I showed the kids first and they were REALLY EXCITED. I expected the boys to be excited but my daughters thought he was amazing too. They are all quite familiar with chameleons from books and videos (and the zoo) but we stopped our breeding program long before they were born so they've never had one.
Anyway my wife came home and was waaaay more excited than I expected. She called it "best gift ever." That was great. He's a big boy, and I am looking forward to building him a new large enclosure. My wife also has demanded that we buy a female for... you know.

I'm already planning his new enclosure. I like building cages. Today I also bought a couple new plants for him since all he had was a stringy pothos. I got him a little schefflerra and an anthurium. Was so tempted by the oranges and lemons, they smelled so good. However my experience in the past with them was not so good.

Michi will be getting his new cage today. I adopted him with a reptibreeze 18 x 18 x 36 screen cage, and although he seems perfectly content in there I want to give him some more space. Today I have a pair of 24 x 24 x 48 screen cages arriving. I probably will just keep him in one of them but I've also considered connecting them to make one larger cage. We'll see.

I'm sure you know this, but get a Mistking to make your life easier, and your cham healthier.

Have you connected two cages like that before?

No I have not, but I've already spec'ed it out and it would be a piece of cake. I don't think I will do it since I'd rather have the 2nd cage for another chameleon.
Well if you do let me know i have done it before i have a couple of them i connected 2 together and another one i have 3 connected together so if you need any help let me know.

here is the 3 put together
