yeah, i dont know if this is my chameleon or what, but i keep hearing these sounds from inside my chameleons cage. it doesnt sound like a human snore, but the sound when they hiss. any ideas? snoring, dreaming about me trying to hold him? im clueless here

it just sounds like a loud longer hiss. he just did it again and it got me out of bed, im kinda freaking out now:confused:

The sound you are probably hearing is a very heavy exhale this is an indication of a possible URI!! Try opening his mouth and looking at the back of his throat if there is a lot of bubbles or mucus he has a URI!!

well ive tried to wake him up but no luck. he is out. im going to stay up and look up about uri. anything yall know about it would be helpful, thanks

chameleons are very good at masking their illnesses until the very end!! I would definately check him in the morning don't bother him tonight!!

ok for what ive read so far, is that URI can be caused by a bad and dirty set-up and in an aquarium. my set up is clean besides a few leaves on the bottom, which he does not go to anyways. all the sides of his cage are mesh so fresh air can come in and out. this just started a few days ago, after he had been walking on a dusty window blinds. could he have maybe inhailed some dust or somethin? also about the noise. he doesnt do it over and over again. he does it every so often. im really starting to get worried. if he does have URI and i take him to the vet, would be recover good and live, or would there be a chance he would die? im kind of afraid for him right now. he seems to be breathing fine. i guess ill just have to wait till morning when i can open his mouth. any good ways to open the mouth?

Raise the temperature in the cage unless you're at the high end of the acceptable range. Do not water your cham at least 2 hours before you shut off the lights. And get him to a vet.
