Very nice! I didn't know you were keeping merumontanus. The nominate male looks fantastic. I look forward to seeing more.

Cheers,

Fabián

We have always liked the Jacksonii Merumontanus, and tried a couple of years ago with fresh imports but lost them. Your posts inspired us to try again, so we picked up a pair of LTC (6 months) Merus this past weekend. They are in separate cages in our "montane room" and seem to be doing well. Eating, drinking, defecating, etc. We will do fecals sometime this week. It is not often that well acclimated LTC pairs come available so we jumped at it.

Watch out, Sandy is getting the Montane bug.... welcome to the other side of the tracks. :D

Congratulations on the new additions.

Thank you, AJA. Yes, indeed, we caught the bug- and are loving it!

Spectacular! It's exciting that there are a few folks working with these now. Maybe there will be some healthy babies for when we're ready to get started. ;)

The female is beautiful...and the horns on that male. Very nice.

Gorgeous animals! How lucky to come across a pair of LTC Mt. Meru's! They do look well taken care of.

We picked them up in Spokane, fm someone with not the greatest BOI rep. But we took the overnite trip to see the place in person. It's a storefront "Mom & Pop" type petstore with a wide ranging assortment of reptiles. All the animals were being kept in individualized habitats, sparkling clean. The animals looked very healthy and contented. The store was well-organized.

We spent hours there, and came home with giant leaf tail geckos, mossy leaf tail geckos, crested geckos, and the Mt. Meru chameleons. The pair were being kept separately in appropriately sized screen cages and looked as relaxed as could be. The proprietor had 2 pairs, but I believe she plans to keep the other pair. They were not at the store, but at her home.

She does business with a few people from this forum, and seems to have good relationships with them. We didn't know what to expect when we embarked on this trip but were very pleasantly surprised. She invited us to visit her home next time we came over to Spokane.
