Well this week started off pretty good and then just took a really bad turn.
My female Quad Mama Sage just laid eggs on Thursday May 10th (the same day my little niece was born). So Friday afternoon I took her out of the egg laying cage and put her with the male in my large outdoor cage. I dug out the eggs and she gave me a dozen of little eggs. (this was the good part of the week!)

After digging up her eggs I went to the hospital to see my new niece and the came home to transfer the female to another cage that would contain crickets. I knew she would be hungry because of her hunger strike right before she laid her clutch and I wanted to continue to monitor her weight gain. Well, I couldn't find her in the cage anywhere. I looked in the center and then in the right side, no luck! Look at the left side and I thought ****! The cage door was open. I have this large elephant ear plant that offers great shade from our sunny California days. Problem with this plant is that it spreads and it started to grow behind the cage. Well the plant grew so big that it started to shift the cage around. Between that and the ones inside the cage growing, they made the door pop open.
So I started trimming down the plants in an effort to find my female with no luck, i then started to look around the yard, mainly around a little pond near the cage. My heart dropped, there she was in the water. It was too late, she had drown.
Rest In Peace Mama Sage
