i need to clean my room (pre much everything vaccum ect) and i want to clean clairs cage as well. how do i go about doing this? i usually just clean up her poopies when i c them and iv never cleaned or moved her cage. i was trying to let her settle in. what the least stressful way to go about this?

i take the cage outside and spray everything down with the hose but ive heared of people disinfecting it by soaking everything in a bleach/water mixture in a utility sink or the bathtub. i have never done that before tho so im not sure of the correct way to do that.

I am considering using a product called simple green. It's a Eco friendly cleaning product. I am pretty sure you dilute it with water, it alsomsays that it is non toxic. I am wonder if anyone else has used this product for cleaning cages. I usually just pick out his poop as well but I know it would be good to give his cage a good disinfecting clean.

We use Simple Green to clean out the runs at my animal hospital, so I believe it would be safe for a cham's cage as well...I have been using it in my panther's cage. Just be sure to dilute it! It has a lovely smell too.

i out "tank reptiles" in tupperware containers, and let my two true chams free range in another room. i usually spend all day cleaning all the cages, vacuuming and mopping since i have wood floors. i clean with the window open so that there are no fumes left in the room from any cleaning products (windex, pinesol) i still try and use as less chemicals as i can.

for cages and tanks, i have a disinfectant solution i bought from PangeaReptiles. i mix that by instructions and use ZooMeds Wipe Out along with it for heavy cleaning. everything is done in my room, unless i want to clean out a tank or something, which is usually just a white pure vinegar and hot water mix.

its harder for me because my two cages are homemade from wood. not really able to spray it down outside.

good idea for the diff room. the vaccum kinda made her upset. not becuz it itself scared her, but becuz i had to move the stringy thing she was on with it. haha. how often should i clean? once a week i was thinking.

i clean my cages once a month and spot clean every day or so.

i do a full clean every two days. like i said im kinda ocd. i put Leonard outside (as long as it is okay outside other wise he just watches tv he cant figure it out its funny) in a screen cage. my mom or boyfriend watches him while i clean. this is what i do.

i have a 1% bleach other part is water mixture that i soak the plastic plants in and removable parts of his waterfalls. than i wash them again twice with just water making sure to get ALL of the mixture out of it!

than i wipe the screen walls with a cotton cloth damp, damp with water (only water) hand towel one per side.

than i clean out the filters of his waterfall, and refill all the water i wipe all the vines.

i clean the plant leaves with a damp paper towel.

after everything dries i put it all back inside. and bring Leonard inside.

its just like new

for around the cage

i clean daily

i wipe the hope chest with a micro fiber clothe to pick up dust, i vacuum around the cage ( they don't have ears so i don't think he minds he doesn't stress out with the vacuum, my dog does more than my cham.) i use the hose to vac the space behind the cage and my blinds. i take down the picture near him and hand dust it so he wont get dust particles. than i clean out his crickets cage and the mini fridge. than i pick up his water bottles (Leonard doesn't get tap water)

and that is my cleaning do the day

hope that helps

much love girly
