As you can see, the receptive coloration is pretty hard to miss.

I have never ever seen my lady cham look like this! So if this is receptive colouring....what is her gravid colouration?

Your cham is really beautiful. Do you have a picture of her when she is not showing receptive colours or non receptive colours so that we can compare please :)

Normal coloration.
I'll try to find a better one ... she's usually a little greener than in that photo

Thanks that is really interesting. So the gravid colours... chams only show these colours if they are with eggs AND a male cham is present right? Sorry to ask dumb questions but my lady cham really does not change much at all.... She has never shown gravid colours.... although I think perhaps she may show receptive colours but it is sooooo very subtle that I have never really thought anything of it. The receptive colours would be showing at the point when your cham starts to get restless and is exploring all over her viv before she is gravid? Have I got this right? I know that Tilly does get restless before she starts getting fat. I used to think that was looking for a laying place behaviour (but too early) It makes much more sense that this is looking for a mate behaviour before the egg making process begins :D

OOPS this went all wrong

i have a female today that somewhat appeared to have receptive colors (though she has been showing them for a while) today i tried to breed her, and she got her gravid colors and rejected him. i figured id give her a bin to lay, and shes currently finishing up laying the infertile eggs. Apparently i was too late:(

I am hoping she does not cycle eggs at all.

Just how big of a hope is it brad. Is there a good chance they wont cycle even if they have not been on a good temp maintanance schedule

Agnes is no longer showing receptive coloration.
Additionally I held Kitty outside of her enclosure today and she puffed up but did not display gravid coloration.
She is back to her normal green and has no detectable eggs.
She ate well yesterday.

About 4 & 1/2 months since mating
" " 3 & 1/2 months since laying
" " 6 to 7 weeks receptive display started about 3 months after copulation

Keep a close eye on her Brad, and check on her weights periodically. Ive kept my female on a maintenance schedule for the past 5 months since she laid in infertile clutch of 61. I kept checking her weight and she increased her weight by about 15g over the course of a few months but it was nothing compared to her usual 50g weight gain of being gravid. She didn't show ANY signs of being gravid at all, kept beautiful green coloration, and ate every couple days about 4 or 5 crickets and this Saturday I fed her in the morning, and went on with my daily routine only to look at her digging in her bin a few hours later and after about 5 hours, i dug up 25 perfect looking (but infertile) eggs. Nothing compared to her normal 60 eggs or so shes laid in the past. I palpated her and felt nothing else after that. Its amazing how well they can hide the fat they're gravid. Days previous to her laying i looked at her and she was shy, got all skinny, and hid behind a vine, looking at her you'd NEVER know she had eggs in her. Moral of the story, always keep a laying bin in with your females whether they're gravid or not.

Nicodemayo-
Excellent advice, and rest assured I am keeping an eye on her. She always has a place to dig in her enclosure.
Your experience yields some valuable, cautionary information and is a reminder that we certainly don't have it all figured out yet.
I will continue to monitor A's situation and report any further notable developments.
