My husband is freaking me out because he put our new chameleon in an all glass aquarium. It's only ventilation is the top that has mesh top on it. Am I overreacting? I feel like it needs to be in a more ventilated atrium.
It's 18"X18"X30. Haku is 5 moths old. Hubby wants it to be permanent.
Haku is a male. Its a bit small, but it is a jacksons, which is a bit small. Plus jacksons like it a bit more humid and tropical. 18x18 would work for a female jacksons, but if you get a large male (10") it might get a bit tight if he doesnt get to free range alot.
Now im with you that is is completely in appropriate for a male veiled.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease. Glad we got a Jackson.Haku is a male.
Haku is a male.
I am going to try to replace the front glass with mesh. Thank you for your advice.@Drgnfl1 The problem with that set up is it is too narrow. There is zero airflow. There are things you can do like install a computer fan but I wouldn't use a sealed 18" x 18" X 30" tall glass enclosure. I use glass and mine are all vented at the bottom front. Even then, I often leave the doors open a crack.
