Alternative to MistKing

So I have been searching around the internet for the famous Mistking but I can't find a Swedish seller of this item. Ever since I bought my habba mist (biggest fkn mistake) I haven't dared to try another one. I didn't even get it to work. Quality.

So the alternatives I have here in Sweden are (both misters and foggers):
JewelSpray (One of the sites says this product is not safe which makes me wonder)
Lucky Reptile Superfog
Lucky Reptile Superrain
Nambia Terra
Zoo Med Repti Fogger
Monsoon (Heard so much bad stuff about this product...)
Magic Fog
Trixie Fogger XL Ultrasonic Dim Generator
Hobby Tropic Fog
Hobby Tropic Rain

I just thought it was hard to pick one that might actually be worth the money I have to put out for this since the only brand you ever hear of is MistKing. If these products are just a completely waste of money I guess I'll have to order mistking from either UK or Germany and pay the extra toll with it
Any recommendations?

I would look for one that uses a reverse osmosis booster pump. That's basically what a mistking or similar misting set up uses. That's why they last better than the Monsoon or Habbamisters. I'm not sure how hard it would be to find the right strength pump and the fittings you would need.

this is the same company ive used since for my set ups since 2000 http://pro-products.com/pro-mist/

Ok thanks. I guess I'll have to do some reading about whats inside these things ;)

You can build one. There are several threads here on building your own misting system.

I am not sure what the market place is like in Sweden, but I bought a small pond pump that fits a standard hose and a fogger nozzle that is used to mist seedlings in commercial greenhouse operations. Cost me about half what Mistking costs, and so far it has worked well. Makes a much finer mist.

Well a Habba Mist was a mistake to begin with. Just a bad unit overall. Those have had soooo many issues for the longest time... As for the Zoo Med Repti Fogger.... Those units tend to leak and they have never been improved. The water bottles on them also don't hold that much water, and even though they say you can attach a bigger bottle, most people have lots of issues trying to get a bigger bottle into the threads. A fogger is just that though - a fogger. Doesn't really provide mist on the plants for your chameleon to drink. Just gives the environment lots of humidity. As for the other units, I've never even heard of them (except the Monsoon, see below )... you could always rig one up for pretty cheap in a DIY project, which would be basically very similar to a Mistking setup for the most part as far as tubing and water reservoir containers and whatnot.....

The Monsoon units aren't that bad if you buy a newer one. The older ones had pumps that didn't last that long, and they also had an issue where water was getting inside the head unit and onto the control board. There was also a problem in some units where the timer would stop working. New models have a better pump, better timer, and the control board is sealed better. I have a newer model Monsoon and it works like a dream. Use distilled water in it only and you be good for a long time. Or maybe I just happened to get lucky? I got it for a heck of a steal too - $60 - and they are usually $100-$110. I got lucky and noticed an error in a Monsoon seller's online listing for them, so he gave it to me at a great discount for letting him know about the error. I figured that for $60, that is cheaper than a Misking, and I would try my luck. Works great so far. and the Monsoon actually LOOKS nice too instead of a big 'ol bucket like the Mistking to pull water out of. You'd think that Mistking, for being such a popular and good product, would have put at lease SOME kind of effort into making a water-holding bay or something. The whole unit, although as great as it is, looks a tad, .....tacky. My opinion I guess. Maybe one day it will malfunction and I will be forced to change my mind. One day it WILL break though, as nothing mechanical lasts forever. So the question isn't really WILL it break, but WHEN. Does the Mistking outperform the Monsoon? Better pump for sure, so probably. Was I willing to save about $60 to take the chance at a Monsoon and see what happens? You betcha. :)

Good luck on whatever you may choose

Years ago the first full component misting system I found (and purchased...and used for years) was a RainMaker produced by a company called Ecologic Technologies. Supposedly they got started supplying zoos. I wonder if there is a zoo supplier in Sweden that might carry something comparable? Might be worth a shot, and you could get away from the pet market products.

I got a Climist since it was recommended by the breeder.

I had some problems setting it up, it is a real DIY project, however their email support is fast and helpful. Got parts in the mail in a couple of days.

The pump is not a simple pond pump, it is high pressure and makes a cloud like mist. After all the work I see ones in the pet shop which are all in one, timers, .... And I felt a little stupid spending so much time on it. I can only hope the mist and pump quality is better with Climist. I is nice once all set up.

I am new at this so this is more an experience rather a recommendation.
