Thats what he is saying though, that never happened before, we used "Likes" as a "Rep" style system, but then facebook and a new crowd, that was use to facebook used it as they would there, which is fine, BUT now I think @Brad should put in a Rep system, like the Like System use to be. Overclock.net did that and its really good. They have the likes, and you can just like stuff, but then they have +Rep, which is like, this person went above and beyond to help me, or made a guide that was super useful, getting Rep is like you said 16 hours a day, 7 days a week you might get 1 a week lol.
It feels better, honestly I preferred the old way, as when you got a Like, it was truly meaningful and it felt good, and empowering, Likes these days, well I turned that notif off these days lol. Not that they are meaningless, I appreciate getting likes and such, and its nice to see, how folks feel about my post, but it just doesnt carry the same weight.
They on OCN have "Flames" that are tied to the Rep, so after 30 rep you get a flame, under your name like the awards we have now. After 100 you get your second flame, ect. 5 Flames is some god awful number, I think its like 1500 or something, and there is like 15 people on the entire site that have that, and they have like 80k posts.
