ambanja or ambilobe

I dont think ambilobe are "over rated" - they just are what they are. People like what they like, or prefer what they prefer. There's no better or worse between Ambilobe or Ambanjas

My ambilobe occassionally has purple bars. But I would say that's not usually the colour ambilobe show. I actually prefer my ambilobe when he's the colours of flames. :)

If purple was the primary thing I was seeking, I'd buy a full grown male already showing those colours, and I wouldnt care what local it was or even whether or not it was pure bred.

wow - didnt realize how old this thread was

Sandra if i ever saw an ambi as nice as the one in your avatar I'd immed become an ambi fan and keeper. I didnt know it was that old either. lol

Old thread......

Ambilobes are overrated.

ambilobe overrated ?

i think your tortoises are overrated and boring...

You gave no valuable input on this thread why even post in it....

Ambilobes happen to be some the most colorful chameleons you can possibly get, you cant expect them to be unpopular or even "overrated" its preference obviously there is a big market for them and their colors for a reason, unlike your turtles. " tortoises" excuse me......

Sorry if i sounded like a dick but your post from '07 annoyed me

That was Tyler not my post :D he tends to invoke many emotions even from the past.

I think Nosy Falys are overrated.;) Ambilobes are cool and while were at it there is no such thing as Ampipisakanananananananana. Let the fun begin. Thanks Frans of the past look what you did.

False, there is a much, MUCH bigger market for tortoises than there is for Ambilobes. I've been heavily involved in both markets, and this is easy to see.

If you don't like tortoises, don't buy one. Nobody is forcing anything.

False, the Ampipisakanananananana locale does exist. It's somewhere in North Carolina.

Ambilobes are overrated.

It's a beautiful area, too. And travelling there for wildlife excursions is a whole lot cheaper than Madagascar. The great thing is that the terrain and weather are much like Madagascar (just more deciduous trees). That must be why the Ampipisakanananana Panther cham thrives so well there. The local natives have no idea when the species was first introduced, but they have been part of the local lore for at least a couple hundred years. One of the guides told us the Spanish brought them over. Here are a couple of photos. You can see that the landscape is tall rolling hills, just like Madagascar, but that the architecture is definitely North Carolina. We're thinking of trying to organize a trip for forum members to Amipipisakanananana next spring- Tyler- you and your family should come along!

That's weird.... When I finally found it on Google, it was noticeably more urban than those photos seem to show, almost like the entire locale was confined within a single house....
