Amilobe or Ambanja

A year ago I bought leon at a reptile convention and I was told he was a ambilobe. My first and I believe that he may be a Ambanja, but I’m not sure. If you guys can help me identify him that would be great! Here are some photos that are in no order.( He is now 1 year old btw)

I think it is an ambanja, since most pictures I have seen of them contain quite a lot of blues. He is a handsome fella!

Aw thank you for helping! The guy I bought him from told me he was ambilobe so I guess I got jipped huh lmao it’s alright

Ambanjas generally do not commonly display blues like this. I know there are some people working with some seriously blue ambanjas in the U.S but they don't really look like this.

I'm actually going to throw in a curve ball and say you have a true blue Nosy Be. Not an ambanja, nor an ambilobe. And I'm pretty confident on that. Let's see what others think.

Oo well now I really don’t know what he is. Thank you for your opinion! I hope others can help us figure it out. Here’s some more pictures of him , last one is when he was 2 months old and the others are when he was like 8 months old or something

That could be a Nosy Be, Ambilobe or a cross of the two. It is not a Ambanja! With selective breeding we have done amazing things but that is not an Ambanja. What did your reputable breeder that you purchased him from call him?

He called him a ambilobe it even said so on his receipt. I could call him to ask but i don't know if I should or not.

omg that kind of looks like Leon! Those are beautiful chams. Im still a bit confused on what he could be, looking at your first picture he kind of looks like that but i dont know. Thank you for your help!

Ambilobes can have such a massive variation of base colors! They are just sooooooo amazing!
