Amos and Fiona's unofficial scale-baby thread

Lil Louie is 5 Months old today. He got a nice birthday surprise when he woke up. I had bought some blue bottle fly pupae and this morning the 1st ones had hatched so he spent the 1st part of his birthday zapping them. He is getting so big...Saturday he weighed 64 grams:D. Even though he gets to free range some...he is getting quite possessive of his cage both inside and out. Whenever I am in HIS space:rolleyes: he lets me know he doesn't appreciate me being there. I would free range him more but I have 2 small dogs that could be a problem. I just laugh at Lil Louie when he gets huffy...not a bit scared:ROFLMAO:. He also is finishing a shed he started yesterday. I am going to have to get a better camera someday because his colors are much prettier:cool: than shown.:mad:

Happy 5 months hatch day you handsome Little Louie! ❤️

By the end of the month all the babies will be 5 months old. Time sure flies.
 
Deandra’s sister Artemis out with me this morning. Still working on the outside enclosure so until then they just have to settle hanging with me while I drink my coffee

Hey, all. Just an update on Wasabi:
Little Wasabi is growing like a weed, already shed twice, and had his first Blue Bottle flies today. I had to put him outside in a small screen cage, in order to feed him flies and red runners.
WOW! He's like a little lightening bolt! He went nuts! I can't get over how fast he is. He barely waited for those little suckers to land and WHAM! LOL!

Flies were always my favorite thing to feed Pixel, when he was little, because their eyeballs just go in circles tracking those flies. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Lil Louie got his blue bottle flies last week. I rigged up a plastic deli cup painted so Louie can't see them until the fly out into his cage. I made a hole in the side of the cup with some painters tape covering the hole so I can open and close...less chance of escapees. Louie is like Wasabi...loves them. :hungry: Guess they are going to be a new staple. I like feeders I can refrigerate to slow down their hatching and slow down to dust. :joyful:
 
I’m posting an update on Arlo, who will also be celebrating 5 months hatch day tomorrow.
He’s fierce if you mess with him in his cage but very mellow once he’s out. LOVES silkworms. HATES my dog, who hasn’t even noticed him yet. Still not so sure about my 4 year old daughter but he will tolerate her for a few minutes here and there.
I weighed him today, he was 47 grams.
I took him outside to bask in the sun and it was even too hot for him so we went back in. We’ve been out almost everyday for at least a few minutes.
He is lovely and we adore him.

im looking into switching up the setup in his cage
I think his tree is taking up too much space
@jannb Do you think i would be able to do a version of the hanging open enclosure you showed me but inside the cage?
I am definitely going to do something similar in another room for free time, but i still need to have a cage due to my current other pets.
