Amy has Pneumonia

She is looking ok today. Still holds her head up at times, but she has eaten two silkworms again today. One of the bruises has gone now, and her eyes are not sunken at all, so I am encouraged by this.

Sorry to hear you're little one is not doing well..Looks like there is a bit of an improvement there! I'll keep my fingers crossed. I hope she'll be in shape soon:)

i would think injecting into the silks would be easist.

i could imagine trying to inject stuff into a cricket.. i can never gt them to sit still!

I had to inject feeders for Tommy when he was on Metacam. It is easy enough, but I don't like doing it! I hold the insect with tweezers and found locusts were best - you inject them in between the segments in the body. They didn't die straight away if he didn't eat them since it was injected into their abdomens. I have locusts, silks and crickets for Amy, but she is loving the silkies at the moment, bless her! She hasn't had any for months and the batch of eggs that I had hatch all at once are just about big enough to make a meal for her. I still have spare needles so I am prepared if that's what I need to do.

Thank you! She has eaten 4 silkies today and hasn't been holding her head up as much. She has her check up in the morning. It is now 10.30pm here in the UK.
