After months of research and anticipation, I finally ordered.......the neccesities for owning and caring for a chameleon. Now if Amazon will hurry up, i can get the setup going (and then focus on buying the actual cham, and knowing me will take another few weeks). Sorry for my ramblings. Just had to tell someone other than my wife and 2 year old daughter

I got my first cham (veiled) 4 months ago. He pretty much hates me, but I still adore the heck out of him. I know I shouldn't play favorites, but I "like" him more than my leachie and crested geckos, and I've had them for a few years now.

It's so exciting to be building your new guys home. I had to build mine within a day, but thankfully I did months and months of research. Now I can buy a bigger cage and slowly work on it to how I like it, and his old cage will be his outside enclosure...

I want a panther and my wife loves the Nosy's. The price on them seem to be a little out of the range i wanna spend. Unless I fall in love, i might go for less expensive cham. As for who I'm buying from, still up in the air. Have read all good reviews from the sponsors on this forum site. I prefer a baby, 3mo old is earliest they say they will ship?
my setup is simple, 18x18x36 cage. Vines, fake leaves (for now), tree branches from outside I've cleaned up. uvb Reptisun 5.0, zoo med deep dome fixture, zoo med terrarium hood-for the repitsun bulb. All this stuff should be coming in the next 2 days, so, I'm gonna mess with the temps and humidity.

I commend you for taking all of the proper steps before you buy a chameleon. Wish there were more like you. And I know what you mean. My wife is tired of talking to me about chameleons

I don't think mine is, Yet lol. She's semi excited. When we actually get one, she will prob enjoy it a few weeks. Then, depending on how noisy the crickets are, she will want me and the cham in another room/house/etc. lol
