People don't realize that most pets are exotic. From parakeets to most fish, they're not from the US. But people think "exotic" equals giant pythons, chimps, and tigers, and are horrified that people would have them. But they probably have a tank of fish from the amazon and don't realize that they count as exotic as well.

I looked at it, it was just a random poll. It said it was a "non-scientific" poll to be exact. Just something to get people riled up. If this ever was a real thing, they best be specific in their description of "exotic".

It is possible with how ignorant the majority can be sometime. I may get an infraction for saying that as well but look at the comments! Please, someone please tell me how the heck is a captive breed chameleon WILD when it has origins outside of the country? How the heck is that any different than owning a mountain lion? JEEEZZZ..... Im sure if there was a real... Official ballot about this,,,There will be guide lines as to how dangerous the animal can be, Harmless or realatively harmless pets wouldnt be affected.
I fly RC model aircraft..... There was just a "REAL OFFICIAL" Bill going thru congress about what constitutes an RC aircraft. There is a huge differance between a military drone with smart bombs... and some kid at the park with a little electric motor foam plane... But at first writing of the Bill it would have made ALL RC aircarft Illegal People here have rites and ammendments will be written up to satisfy all involved

I think it's funny how it doesn't ask if it is in harmony with the constitution and principles of liberty and pursuit of happiness for it to be legal to own an exotic animal. Instead the only justification for keeping one in this poll is if it doesn't involve danger. Excuse me- last time I checked it was statistically more dangerous to drive an automobile than to own an exotic animal of any kind... Talk about a slanted poll...

I think its rediculous. There are too many uneducated people in this world, especially when it comes to reptiles, animals in general. I understand the caution when it comes to tigers and lions. I still remember when friends would come over to see my collection how they would freak-out due to fear of diseases. Especially salmonila.
