I know there is a show about this and I am afraid to watch and discover I have a problem! Just curious about everyone's list of animals.

5 snakes, green tree pythons and rhino ratsnakes
2 rock iguanas,cuban and rhino.

2 dogs,bulldog and bullmastiff
2 cats,hairless sphynx
5 polish chickens
1 toucan
I am setting up a discus tank in the next few weeks.
After typing this out,I do have a problem.

its all good! Just shows you love the animals!!

Iv got:
2 Chameleons. Veiled and Panther
2 Rabbits. Dutch and Dwarf
1 Leopard Gecko
26 Fish (2 Aquariums)

Not as large as your collectoion but if i had the space it probably would be :p

present pets i have now-
veiled chameleon, 2 fish

past pets ive had before-
2 old fish and a hermit crab. fish got eaten by the hermit crab.
a dog
and a turtle

pets i will most likely have in the future-
chameleons !:D

LOL! Ever since this show came on my MOM is calling me a hoarder-and says it is due to psychological damage from losing my job in July 2008, She has to be a little off since I started "hoarding" chameleons in 2007!
Current list:
22 chameleons
5 crested geckos
2 leopard geckos
2 red eared sliders
1 red foot tortoise
2 ball pythons
1 cockatiel
1 great dane and 1 lab mix

Yep-that proves it-CHUCK you are a HOARDER!

speaking of animal hoarding, theres a show on the Animal Planet called "animal hoarding" and this guy had like 150 cats. eeeeewwwwww.

60 chams!?!?!

I have
2 Adult Jacksons
7 baby Jacks
4 red ear sliders
1 snapping turtle
1 mississippi map turtle
1 florida red belly turtle
1 softshell
1 three striped mud turtle
1 eastern painted turtle
2 dogs sheepdog and chiwawa
1 bearded dragon
1 three-toed box turtle
20+ fish
1 ball python

Chuck that isn't really that bad. new a guy here had 1000 ball pythons, he bred and sold them. but that was the most he had at one point.

i think his personal snakes ranged into the 100's or so.

i think hoarding becomes a problem when you have more then you can care for, it consumes your life, and you continually add beyond your means for containing animals in a healthy enviroment.

Well said Sang! Can you talk to my Mom? :)

That's what he is afraid of, to watch the show and come to the realization that he might be! I will say this, the difference with the animal hoarders on the show, is usually their animals live in squalor and are usually uncared for because they get overwhelmed with having so many. I think you could be classified as a "hoarder" if you have many, but it is also about the condition of the animals. The shows I have seen, they usually end up taking the animals away because most of them are in horrible condition and it is for the best interest of the animals. Hoarders believe that by taking in all the animals(which they then breed out of control) are helping them by giving them a home but do not see past unsuitable living conditions they are providing.

Ooooo, fun! This is our zoo:

36ish adult chameleons and 70 or so babies
1.1.8 Aru Islands Green tree pythons
1.0 Columbian boa
0.0.1 Argentine horned frog
1.0 blue poison frog
0.1 Giant Madagascar day gecko
1.0 Satanic leaf-tail gecko
0.1 Gargoyle gecko
1.2 California desert tortoises (cb and adopted)
26g reef tank with sps, lps, and softies
Boxer
Himalayan

If it wasn't for all the chameleons it wouldn't seem so bad, would it?

All my friends keep calling me a hoarder, but in my profession having lots of animals is more tolerated than most!

3 chams, veiled, jacksons, panther and soon 2 pygs
3 dogs, hound mutt, pug, dachshund
2 cats
1 neurotic ferret
2 ornate box turtles
4 three-toed box turtles
2 desert tortoises
2 massive sulcatas
1 iguana
and whatever various wildlife being fostered at the moment

My zoo isn't quite what is used to be when I was younger, but it's growing steadily :) Pigs, chickens, horses, more turtles and chams are in my imminent future - makes moving a total pain.

Ryan, reading Chuck's post almost knocked me out of my socks that i didnt even bother reading the thread and just posted away, missed your list until it brought me to 2nd page, but holy crow. where do you folks get the money to raise these guys? all hobbie's and no lady friends? lol

Wow

When I found this thread, I was just feeling guilty because I just aquired two chameleons in 30 days and I am considering a carpet cham, bearded, and my husband is getting a rainbow boa.

Currently,

2 chameleons
1 pit mix

Ryan: What in the world is a gargoyle? I mean, besides the statue kind.
