i had her outside today and was eatting watermelon when i decided i'd force feed her watermelon, i figured if she didn't like the taste she would spit it out, after getting a taste of it she was eatting it off the rind!

***Watermelon is okay for her, right?

i took pictures of both the kids outside today

I'm pretty sure watermelon is okay for chams... I fed some to my bf's veiled and he liked it... he's obsessed with the CUTIE brand clementines too!! :) BTW your chams are beautiful!!

realy nice chams you got there, and I'm sure a little bit is fine.
might even be good for hydration.

I would say watermelon probably would not hurt-but why would you force feed her anything? I would also make sure there were no seeds-I am sure they might be an impaction issue.

well she wouldn't try the watermelon and was actually scared of it, so i opened her mouth and put a little piece halfway inside her lips so she could spit it out if she didn't like it. my dads motto when i was growing up was "try everything once or else you don't know if you'll like it" after she tried it, she loved it!

do you do this with all new feeder foods you offer your chams?

not all, but i had to with butterworms. then she ate 10 by herself right after. she doesn't know a whole lot of foods and shes just getting her sight back. for a few weeks i had to hand feed her everything. thats the only reason shes alive today. i don't feel bad about it at all. i still have to force her to drink, her hydration isn't up enough for me or her vet to not worry.

ya shes turning into quit the little chunk butt. she'll eat 2 giant hornworms and 4 silkies in a day. shes recovering great though :D
