another update on Po

So they looked at some of the strange dropping under a microscope and couldn't identify what was going on , so they sent the images off to a zoo specialist and he said they were uraic acid crystals.

They're basically saying that her kidneys aren't functioning properly. At the moment they're loading her up with phosphorous blockers(I believe they're called) and lots of fluids tomorrow they want to do an x-ray on her to see whats goin on inside.

Other then that they haven't given me a diagnosis completely but they said they''ll know tomorrow and in turn I'll know.

They didn't but they should be calling me today with better information.

awhe! The vet is trying to work with me on price, keeping it as low as possible.

It's not horrendous right now but it's definitely more then a few bucks.

Yes! heard from the vet.

she did x-rays and a free ultra sound of little po and found nothing abnormal.

She alsooo said that they tested her poo again and said they found something called toxicity? a parasite she said.

tomorrow is the day they test her blood again to see if her kidneys are functioning any better. they also said that she's been put on a low dose of some stuff that gets rid of parasites.

Hahaha, either way, at least you are a loving enough mom to take her to the doctor! I've known people to say "I'm not taking it to the vet, it's a lizard, not a dog or cat"... Then don't get one!!! Very happy she is being looked after! A lucky little cham!
