Any ideas for making a rain chamber?

I was thinking instead of trying to get my mellers chameleon used of the shower as a rain chamber. I thought Id make him one with some kind of container upside down and attach few sprayers from mister and maybe a shower stall bottom with drian?? This is obviously just starting idea. Im having problems with him drinking under misters in cage I believe i can make some branches he can sit on and cover him with this and will work better.
I can spray him with bottles and he seems finally used to it. So figured this would be next step.

Any ideas of a mobile rain chamber??

Maybe this isn't what you're going for, but here's an idea that comes to mind. If you already have a misting system, I would aim the mister upwards towards the top of the cage and have a little square of PVC sheet or something, so it'll collect and rain down instead of spray out in a mist. Some chameleons just respond better to raindrops, perhaps yours is one of them.

This just seems like an easy thing to try before you set out and put money into building something. I don't know about building a mobile one though. Does he not like being in the bathroom shower?

Im not sure if it was the shower spraying on him. I tryed different settings and aiming towards wall etc. He wanted out. I can try again since now hes letting me use spray bottle and I even put on stream to see if he minded it. I also think the vibration its one of those fiberglass? showers.
The other problem was in the cage the misters do not spray the edge of cage mostly aim and do all of the cage but edges. Thats where he has been staying. I tried adding branches to middle but he still moved to edge.
The reason why Im thinking of doing this is he needs misting for about 30 mins once a day at least once in while longer. Its been working great but I have to by hand and lol my hands get tired.

A hand pumped pesticide type sprayer (new and clean) will save your hand from hurting ;)

I believe coldbloodedAL made something like what you are talking about, by mounting a nozzle inside a tupperware type container. The nozzle points up, and the water hits the (upside down) container, and rains down.

I have my nozzles hid inside a pothos in my free range, the spray immediately hits the foliage, and rains down. You might want to try something like that as well?

IMO they should always have the ability to get out of the water if they want to (to some extent). Maybe he will respond better to the rain though.
I have found my chameleons dont like mist as much as rain :)

I hear that alot that they dont like mist as much as rain. The first day he drank under mist ever since then no. I didnt want to let him stay at edge of cage not letting him get wet until one day he decides he needs it because hes too new to me. But now that i have had him a month Im ready to experiment with him to try to get him misted with me not so involved. He doesnt seem to care to walk into mist if hes not in it. But if I do it by hand hes fine and loves it.

I have timers and all on misting system but too afraid that hes not going to be under it when Im not here and dehydrates. From what I understand mellers go downhill very fast.

The idea of the tupperwear was exactly what I was thinking. Im going to work like you said aiming heads differently it would be nice if this could be done in cage.
thanks for ideas I need them.

Yeah, the only way I see to do it in cage, is to have an area of foliage right at the top. The mist nozzles will hit it, and create rain underneath.

The only issue is, the rained on area will be fairly isolated, so you may have to use 3+ nozzles. (I have two on my FR)

Its something I did a week or so ago, and Im still trying to get it just right.
The pothos seems great for this, the larger the better.

Let me know how it goes!

EDIT: How large is the enclosure?

I dont no how to use this site sometime so Im trying to leave you picture so you can see cage. You saw picture before its 4x36x24. I have 4 misting heads in middle of cage so its covered well. Im just going to try your ideas of changing placement. Its just he loves to sit right on branch in front of door and will not leave. If I move in middle he doesnt always want to stay. The picture with him in pic is him sitting on his favorate spots .. ive messed with branches and all he goes right back. He also likes to wait there at routine times so he can come out to plant that you see outside cage in.

Im not good with computers and it wont let me download again from computer and I dont no how to reuse the picture that ive posted already so I only no how to copy location so hopfully you can see them.
