Any ideas? Home made or not?

Am takin quite a like to the flexariums are they a good thing to use??? Ive also seen pictures of some home made vivs wich look kinda easy and cheep to make is this a good idea if so what will i need to buy i.e safe materials etc i have a 3ft long by 2ft high viv at the momeant but would like a taller les wider one and i think i will be able to make it alot more homely for my chameleon lots more vines etc

I like building my own enclosures as I can choose the dimensions and the orientation that best fits my available space. Chams almost always do better in the largest space you can give them and horizontal travelling space is used more than a taller narrower one. In a narrow-but-tall cage the cham really only has the choice of moving up or down away from the lights. A cage that is generous horizontally as well as vertically gives them more flexibility and also tends to accommodate larger bushy live plants IMHO. What cham species are you designing it for? A 3x2 cage is pretty minimal for the larger arboreal species like panthers or veileds.

For the frame you could use sealed wood, PVC pipe, or some sort of metal such as frames for screen doors or windows. Not sure what you have over there. The mesh can be as simple as galvanized hardware cloth though its a good idea to coat the mesh with something to cover any sharp edges left by the galvanization process. You can use fiberglass or plastic windowscreen mesh especially the stuff marketed as "pet safe". Check with home improvement supplies to see if they have any type of mesh that has larger openings. Easier and safer for chams to climb on as they don't tend to get their claws caught in the mesh. Again, I don't know what sorts of products you have available.

Ok thanks for the advice so il have to have it alot wider then i wouldant be doing this for a month or two just wanted to get an idea hes a cross between sambava/rustic red and ambolibe blue,red and greens thats what the breeder said (im new to this lol) thanks.
