Panther not eating.

I have a panther and he is about 10 months old. He was doing very well then stopped eating over the last week or so. He was constipated for a couple days then finally pooped he at about 10 large crickets in one day(usually eats four to five, then walks away ,is that normal?) then started to tapper off and now hasn't eaten in two days. I thought maybe he was tired of crickets and is just going on a hunger strike so I ordered some silkworms that should be in a couple days. He was sitting in the corner for a couple days also then he started his shed. Is that way he stopped eating. I know my snakes stop eating right before a shed. Should I be concerned or just wait until the worms get here and go from there.

After reading an earlier post about ppl asking the same questions over and over again after looking through an searching I have not found a thread that answered my specific questions. I apologize in advance in I upset anyone for repeating a question just a little worried about my little guy.

Thanks.

No need to apologize for posting up! :) He may have had a decreased appetite due to shedding, but should be hungry shortly after completing his shed. Have you only offered crix? I know you just ordered other feeders, but what else do you feed besides crix?

well he slowed down on his appetite about a week ago so i got some waxworms, i know they are far from the best to feed him but i was worried because he was only eating 1 to 2 a day he loved them for a little while then stopped those too and then went right into shed. so i ordered some silkworms because he liked the waxworms right away. thanks for the reply

Hi! Yes it is possible that the shed has interfered with his apetite. It is also possible that he is bored of his crickets. Have you given him any treat items lately? Could he be holding out for more treats?

At that age it's not such a worry if he doesn't eat for a couple of days but if it persists you may want to come back for more advice or fill in this form https://www.chameleonforums.com/how-ask-help-66/ so folks here can maybe give you a bit more of an insight. As they grow they don't need to eat as much so you may also want to start feeding him every second day and see if he's a bit more hungry.

Hope this helps :)
