Any tips on keeping crickets quiet?

My crickets always hide in the same spot(on top of a log/branch at the top of the cage). If one doesn't get eaten and starts chirping at night, I spray a little water where they hide(not enough to mist the whole cage, just enough to get the cricket). That usually works......for a few hours. lol

Buy smaller crickets. They only chirp when they get their wings. 1/2 inch ones don't usually chirp.
