Any wonder reptile people get a bad rep

Ahhh that make me so angry! We have dozens of insect species for a reason. To me it's like feeding one pet to another pet. Like feeding your dog a parakeet just to spice things up when you have 12,000 brands and flavors of dog food, treats, and meat/chicken.

 Based on what ya'll are saying, I'm not even going to watch. I really wish that members would not post this crap. It's like watching the news, they never tell you the good things that people do only the bad.

DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOU ARE WEAK STOMACHED.

I really wish there was a warning at the top of this post. This just PISSES ME OFF.

You can still see it moving after it got eaten.... ugh.. it makes me mad and sad. I won't be able to get the image out of my head for a while now.

Please put a warning....

OMG I hated that video... there are more like that posted and i dunno why people get a kick out of feeding leos to other animals like that... My brother while on tour in Iraq studied Leos in thier wild habitat and he never once seen anything pray on leopard geckos... He brought me his journal and photos back as i was working with leopard geckos at that time and if he could figure out how to bring some back with him he would have brought me back a couple dozen or so if not more... I told him to stash em in plastic containers in his backpack when he got ready to come back home lol....

You should look at this thread before continuing to talk about doing something incredibly illegal on an international scale.

Thank you for the warning SYN, thank goodness I didnt watch. There should def be a warning before posting something that not everyone would want to see.

I agree.. and yes, there should be.

Something like a "this makes me so sick", of course people are going to look, you don't know what it is, it could be another balloon chameleon where nothing is dying but this is just.. argh.

Ok, now this is a question, testing the waters, dont flame me too bad.

I understand leo to snapping turtle is completely unnesecary, but what about my snakes that i have to feed rabits/guine pigs too? What is everyones view on that? I also have anoles and day geckos that i have to feed to some of my monitors when they are being stubborn. I would never do something like in the video, but im just wondering what your takes are on the big snake diet

See, I think that if you have too then there's not much you can do about that except not get that animal to begin with. Think that if the diet of your animal requires something, like a snake and mouse, then there isn't much you can do. It's the way it is. My biggest problem with the people who do stuff like in the video is that it's completely unnecessary. That turtle does not need a leopard gecko to supplement anything, it can probably get everything it needs and more from what is typically in its diet.

It's like when I had a ferret for a while. On the forums they recommended I throw in a live mouse for her to get some "enrichment." With a high quality commercial diet, supplemented by bits of meat and chicken, plus toys and games, she didn't need to kill something just to have fun. You know? I never know if anyone sees what I mean when I have issues with threads like this. I wouldn't give my dog a parakeet to kill just for giggles, there is no need. But if your snake needs to eat rabbits and such as part of its diet (not for your sick enjoyment "oh look I'm drowning the gecko!") then I don't have issues with that personally.

ok thats what i figured the answer would be i just wondered what peoples responses were. I mean, i will admit, i do LOVE to watch my retics eat. the power of a 12+ ft snakes strike is unbelievable, but at the same time i do feel a bit bad for the rabbit, if there was a way i could feed rats and not rabbits i would, but it would be 5+ jumbo rats for every rabbit.
