hey i have a baby veild cham and its mean as hell ppl told me its the starter cham but not really im tired of him tryna bite me when i try 2 pick him up i need a more friendly chameleon so help me please!!

All chameleons can bite. They can become aggressive when caged. I interact with mine on a daily basic and they are all extremely friendly. Don't be afraid of a little tiny animal, just keep taking him out and when he's out do something fun with him, like a nice worm or a walk around outside or allow him to hang on a tree or large plant inside. He'll come around.

ok so ur sayin i should try to pick him up more not gonna llie ima 28 yr olld grown man and im scared he bites hard been bit by a gecko b4 and not pleasent

but how do u pick urs up i try 2 put my finger under him so he can just climb on it:confused:

When my daughter use to buy wild caughts some were very mean at first. I'd come from down under and pick them up. Once I had them they were usually much friendlier.

you can also try using a stick for your chameleon to climb on or even wear a glove. I used one in the beginning, although my chameleon never attempted to bite I was afraid he might. I used a lime green one. I thought maybe my chameleon would think it was a big green leaf! lol, who knows though?

28? lol sry no offense the way you type is deceiving, i actually thought you were a 12 year old girl. again, no offense.

you need to be consistent, dont jerk away. dont move erratically. will he hand feed? you might need to associate youre presence with food to get him to start approaching if hes running away.

and again always approach from below. approaching from above his head is threatening.

hes still young right? the bite is really not that bad till theyre adults. just think about sticking your finger in a chip clip.

if he runs away have your other hand already placed where hes probably going to "escape" to, and as someone said in the other thread you made try the finger wiggle. keep his attention on that hand while you slowly move the other into position. then approcah with the finger wiggle hand. you get him with one or the other. trust me just be patient. youll get it.

yes under the chin if you can. then lift slowly, he'll either release with his frint legs or try to turn and run away. thats why, if you can, have you other hand behind him, preferably under the base of the tail if you can get close enough without him freaking out.

What type of gecko? I've been bitten many times before by all my geckos other than my crested because I hand feed them and don't use tongs. It isn't too bad to be bitten especially by a baby veiled wait until you get bit by an iguana. ;P

Give your chameleon time to adjust to you. When its ready IT will come out onto you. Hand feeding is the best way to get your cham to like you. When I feed mine it runs over to me... I usually put my hand in the cage as a highway to the food.....This gets her out of the cage on onto me. veild's are mean and nasty yes, but remember a chameleon it NOT a reptile that likes being handled, at all!

Never got bit by Buster(my iguana) but he would whip the crap out of you with his tail, lol.
