Anyone go on walks?

The park is about two streets from my house, and my only chance of getting sunlight. Both of my chameleons seem to enjoy being taken out, but I wonder if it's safe enough to take that trip, they don't run or jump off me, and the kids at the park know better than to try to mess with me while I'm holding a reptile. Anyone think this is a good idea? Maybe I can bring crickets and charge them a dollar to feed him ;)

I've been known to do that, if the weather is nice I may plop a panther on my shoulder and walk the dogs and the chameleon at once, so we all get fresh air. I have a balcony with outdoor cages that I set them up in but they don't seem to mind the walking around either. I figure that 20 minutes or so of walking around, getting some visual stimulation from the world isn't a trauma for an animal that tolerates being on your shoulder to begin with.

My frontyard has one HUGE tree that covers all the sun and the backyard a bunch of medium sized ones. I'd have to stand and hold him in exactly the one foot of sunlight there is.

I go on walks with my cham, but he is the one that does the walking. He dislikes being held so I just tag along right behind him and keep him out of trouble. Of course when he gets to the road, I have to carry him across. And always watch for hawks and such. I don't think he is actually going on a "walk" so much as looking for a female though. I haven't got the heart to tell him. . .

I walk my guys in my yard mostly my fenced backyard. I walk them around and around the pool. My dog walks with us. Some people in our neighborhood have pit bulls and they sometimes escape and I've seen them roam the neighborhood. I'm afraid to even walk my dog outside of the fence.

Silly question haha... so, my petstore has these little iguana or lizard harnesses for walking, would that be completely stupid to put on a chameleon?

Ya not really putting some harness on my babes, but not having them on the ground at all. I live on the busiest street in this section of VA.
