Aquariums

i am a little familiar with archer fish from things such as the discovery channel. just curious what and how do you feed them?

Honestly, I almost only feed a staple diet of Hikari Cichlid Gold Pellets in the small, floating, form. In reality my archers get a more nutritious diet because of it. I used to feed them a strict diet of crickets and frozen bloodworms, mysis, krill, etc. When I switched over to pellets I noticed a pretty good increase in growth... it's way easy too.

The fun of watching your archers spit at stuff gets old pretty fast. I still feed them insects fairly regularly, just not strictly. I had some manzanita branches above the waterline for a couple weeks, but ended up pulling them out due to the physical injuries the archers were getting. Archers will always prefer to jump for their prey rather than spit if it's a possibility. Everyone is always so impressed with the spitting, but I dig the jumping. The fact that they can jump out of the water and catch a housefly in mid-flight just really impresses me.

I've taken a well needed break from the aquarium hobby, but I'm pretty certain that I'll always have a shoal of archers in my house.

So far the only occupants are Amano Shrimp, but since you need to take them out when they are pregnant, there aren't many in there. There are some huge brown string algae growths in there... I mean, single strands, around 16" long.

Fish will go in as soon as I find the species I want...

If anyone has plant trimmings that they would be willing to part with, let me know. Plants aren't cheap and theres a lot of space to cover.

wow... Some Nice Tanks,

I want to put mine up... But, mine is shit compared to those... lol.... So I'll just keep mine to myself :p...

I need to get some cool looking fish.

Any idea's (fresh water)

Here are a few pics from my reef and fish only tank, been working on them for about two years and some of the pics are old but they will have to do.

I envy people who can keep their fish alive. Mine always end up dead. So I spare the fishes lives and leave them in the Pet Store.
