Arcadia Lighting

So I'm thinking on getting a male veiled. His enclosure would be 24x24x48". I am going to plant it with pothos, kalanchoes, and maybe a ficus. Would the 24" HO T5 double bulb fixture with Arcadia 12% and 6.5 k Day-light bulb be sufficient? I was looking at the 24" HO T5 with Arcadia 6% and 6.5 k Day-light and figures the 12% would be better since I'm going to heavily plant his enclosure. Any tips?

My current setup is the 24" HO T5 Arcadia 6% with 6500k daylight bulb for my panther chameleon. 12% is perfectly fine given the size of your cage and that you will be providing lots of foilage for him to hide. I say go ahead and pull the trigger on that setup!

That's what I was thinking! Thanks much eh!

I've got the 24" tropical blaze quad with 12% set up My chameleon and plants are doing great. I purchased mine through Todd at lightyourreptiles.

A quad for my cage seems a tad to much though.
I've got a quad on my enclosure, and it is great for the plants. You don't necessarily need it, but I wanted it ;). I have the quad T5 HO and two basking domes.

Mainly UVB. The fixture has a great reflector that really helps brighten the enclosure. You can use any 6500k T5 bulbs for the plants.

That's where I'll be getting mine. A quad for my cage seems a tad to much though.

It's not. Your plants will love the plant bulb and your cages will be brighter.

Most cages are just too dark, especially at the bottom. Use a 12%. A 12% is really weak when compared to real sunlight, even the weaker sunlight in the Northern Hemisphere. It will penetrate deeper into the cage than the 6%.

How long do the 12% bulbs last for before having to be changed? I'll look into the quad.

Dual is plenty sufficient, i run the 6% on a 48" tall enclosure and the light penetration is great. Remember Todd also has Arcadia T5-HO grow bulbs as well.
