are we weird?

Since chameleons are not your everyday run-of-the-mill pets, there is something about our personalities that make us want to explore uncommon things.

However, the point about people wanting to spend money on status-symbols....it is how people are. We want to be noticed. Some want to be noticed in their nice car, some want to be noticed by telling stories about the super weird things they do. It's the same desired outcome- attention. It's not a bad thing, or a weird thing, it's just a people thing. Sociology 101;)

but the chameleon thing? is that weird? i dont think it is. i think it is an excellent way to refine ones focus (a nice distraction from everyday bs) and blissful in regards to watching them grow and procreate all under you care. very gratifying.

so i ask you chameleon forum goer(s). whats weird about you? and why isnt this hobby weird?

I don't believe this hobby is weird at all. I just believe society has set standards that the "normal" people follow, and if anyone strays from that path set for us, we are set apart from everyone else, mainly because it is not understood or accepted. Many people are either uncomfortable or affraid to stray from this path. It annoys me to see these people in action, especially when confronted with chameleons, reptiles, insects, or anything else we are interested in. They just don't get it, and when afew do, and appreciate it, it makes it worth it.

But otherwise, yes I am pretty weird.

you said wrangler with a snorkel..You sound like you have your shit together son! lets go wheelin! *****BUT****you must first promise to take your meds before i pick you up or wait screw that. I want to see you take them. I dont want any of this glow in the dark, role playing, skunk summoning shat coming out while we are winching out of a rut from hell.
