Ate leaf from unknown tree

Alright, so Corvo, a 6 month old veiled took a bite or of a leaf in my back yard. I took him out there to soak up some uv's and he shot at one of the leafs with his tounge. He looked as though he got a big chunk of the leaf out of his mouth. He seems fine though. His mouth hung open for a few seconds, but that's because it's 98 degrees outside. But attached is a picture of the tree, anyone know what kind it is?

Its a maple tree. Should be OK. Those green seed pods are classic maple.
