attracting bugs to your backyard

Hello, since I live in FL I wanted to keep some Veiled Chams in the backyard and was wanting to see if any of you know of any plants I could plant or anything else I could do to attract more insects.

Your chameleons may not stay where you'd like them, if you plan on free ranging.

Lights, etc. will attract moths and other like insects at night.

Be aware that you could attract more than just insects.

It probably did sound like I was going to free range which would be cool but I do plan on using an enclosure. But I thought if I could use certain plants that could attract insects then capturing them would be easy. My yard is organic so if I could have a bush, for example, with a ton of catipillars on it then I could put the cham on the bush and let him have at it. But thanks for the suggestion. I did see on another thread a guy on here had a light trap set-up which I thought was pretty cool.

Anything in the cabbage/mustard family will be attractive to the cabbage white moth; the larvae and adults are great food.

Most fruit and vegatible plants seem to have insects they attract. If it's a big enclosure you could try seeding it with some bugs, they might colonize.

Stay away from toxic plants like milkweed and do lots of research. Some insects are toxic because of what they eat.
