Hello. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get baby veileds to switch to crickets? They love fruitflies but they only offer so much nutrition. Will they eventually switch when the flies no longer satisfy them? Thanks

now I am no expert but I would advise you to throw some pinhead crickets in with the fruit flies and gradualy ween them off of the flies

How old are the babies? If they didnt go for the crickets, Possibly the crickets you offered are too large? Or if there are too many it can be confusing to the chameleon as to which one to shoot at. Of perhaps the crickets are just a little too fast for the chams (put them in the fridge for a couple minutes to slow them up). There's nothing wrong with using fruit flies for as long as the babies will accept them - dont forget to dust some of the flies though. But its good to offer as much variety as possible as soon as possible. Gradually add in pin head crickets. Then add in other small insects (baby silkworms, baby kingworms), slightly larger crickets.
