Baby chameleon housing

Hello, I'm new to this website and this is my first time ever doing a forum website type thing. last month got a pair of baby veiled chameleons (1 male , 1 female) from a friend of mine who breeds them. They are in a 66qt tub with a UVB bulb , there isn't a heat bulb because it seems to give off a bit of heat and im afraid if i do get a heat bulb the chameleons will over heat quickly do to their size. I was thinking about buying the Zoomed ReptiBreeze 16x16x30 to house both of them. I've read that they should be separated after sexual maturity but i just want to make sure because these are the first chameleons i have ever had and i love em to bits. Would housing both of them in the 16x16x30 with a heat and UVB bulb be alright? If so then what would be the reaching point to when they should be housed individually? They are about 5 weeks old as of right now.

Seems most people separate them around 3 months, but it'd be ideal to have them separate from the get go. Honestly you're going to have a steep learning curve jumping in with 2, one being a female that has specific needs like a laying box and egg laying in general. I would read the care sheets on here as much as possible and ask questions that are still uncertain. It can be hard for us to tell you where to begin.

well ive owned lizards ranging from leos to tegus , ive had more experience with terrestrial lizards than arboreal but i felt confident that with the experiences ive had, id be capable enough to take care of these two. as of rn i have a 13W uvb bulb, i personally feel iffy about not having the heat bulb, would it be better so have the UVB and the heat bulb? The room the chameleons stay in usually stays around 75-80 degrees and i have a fan in there to keep the air flow constant.

Oh nice you've had tegus lol I've been wanting one of them. Right now I'm just a crazy chameleon dude.

At that young age I would say 80-82 basking temps should be good. Get a weak iridescent bulb around 50-60w and a laser temp reader. I can't speak on the uvb, can you post the exact bulb you have?

Right now I have a Reptile Tropical UVB bulb from all living things. It's a 13 Watt bulb. My plan is to put both in the 16x16x30 with a uvb and the normal 50-60 watt bulb by this week or so because I honestly don't really like the tub. But hopefully in another week or so I'll buy a second setup so I can seperate them. Tegus are amazing and a great pet , defenitely recommend ;)

not sure about that uvb, most people use the reptisun 5.0 or arcadias. i know as babies you want very little uvb. do you happen to have a meter?

Wish i could get a tegu, but i compromised with the gf... parson's chameleon instead of the tegu. shes terrified of them for some reason. hates snakes too, but she likes the chams. lame.

Yea I can see why they are a big intimidating , honestly as long as you get it as a baby there's no reason it should be aggressive , unless it's just a demon  I think my UVB bulb isn't that bad , it's the lowest bulb wattage I've used. I'll dry to get a meter and a laser gun to check the temps. Do you keep your chameleon in a screen enclosure? I currently feed them FF and pinheads , but I'm planning on feeding them discoids once they get alittle bigger since I breed discoids And I'm worried about them escaping and stuff :(
