Thank you all SO much for all the nice comments I really do appreciate them!! Anyone on the fence about these guys really should get them while you can because Chad has them and this is a super rare opportunity to keep this species. All the real accolades belong to Chad (CNorton) for his great work with this species. He has been able to do something nobody else in the US has been able to do.
This species is so rare I don't think you will find any real "care sheets" for them, but Chad can fill you in with any care information you might need. This species is just slightly smaller than panthers are about the size of the smaller locales of panthers...not Sambava size for sure.
So as to get this thread back on track if no one objects too much I am going to post a few more photos
And what we feel is the female
Just SO cute!!
Thanks Tylene!! He sure does look like it doesn't he I think he is in the upper 60g range so probably another 40g to go I would guess. With how vivid and green he is in these pictures from Saturday, I couldn't believe my eyes when I came down this morning and he was in full shed
Does your girl have blue toes too? From looking at your's rostrals I'm thinking mine is a girl, but has the blue toes. What do you think?
Honestly Tylene I have no idea about yours how big in grams? I think it looks male and its my male that has blue toes. We originally thought the small one was a male and now we are pretty sure it's female. Look at the first pics in this thread that was when my male was 20g and we were not sure if it was male or female....now it's pretty obvious lol.
Nothing like a little stink eye in the morning. This guys Rostrals are getting HUGE
Love the stink eye! What a great shot Rob!
Omg he is sooo cool!!!are they hard to care for?
fantastic looking animal!
hey clark should we try to organize a phoenix group again?
now that the holidays are passed...
matt
about your cage in the office, can we use a cage like that for baby chams? can they climb out without a cover? if they can, what to use as cover? thanks!
YES!! We need to set up a day and get the group going. Probably should post it on the board 3 weeks or so out to give people time to plan.
These are 100% enclosed and are butterfly cages. I use them for stick insects all the time. They work good for baby chams my problem with them as that is figuring out a drainage system and or putting a mist nozzle inside the cage. They are cheap
about stick insects, what to feed? sorry for asking
The simple answer is bramble, however, since I don't have easy access to bramble I feed off red leaf lettuce.
