Hmmmm.
I know I originally said back when I was asking for a pair of these that not only would they go to a good home but that I'll be breeding them. I wasn't trying to be pompous either.
What I didn't expect was to have some babies within months of getting a pair.
The female arrived a bit gravid, not ideal for a new female cham but I'll work with what I get every time. Last night she dropped 5 babies. Unfortunately three never emerged from their sacs and were DOA. Two however are now in the herp room and plotting to take over.
The mother is doing well. Eating voraciously and staying hydrated. I had decided a few weeks ago to separate the pair as I noticed they just didn't seem to like being around each other. I observed weight loss in the female and agitation colors from both. I can only wonder if that weight loss contributed to losing three of the babies. Bummer.
I'll pair them up again sometime in Aug/Sept and actually do a thought out breeding.
Now , suggestions for feeding teensy tiny chams? I'm guessing there are more modern food items than the old ways I used to do it which involved me outside for hours collecting food items.....
pinhead crickes and fruitflies?
