Bad bad week.

Recently my cousin had passed away.. I thought this was bad enough until I get an email from the person I sent a package of books to... saying that the books I had sent to her were missing, and replaced with a pair of business pants and coffee grinds...

I made a call to USPS and got a hold of a "supervisor" and was given a confirmation number and told I'd be called back in 2 business days.. So now I have over $90 in books missing.... The worst part is, is I was told that there was no insurance offered on my shipment!! Because of that, I was told to go speak to the post master at my local post office and talk to them - what are they going to do? Fire the person? I am so stressed out I am shaking... I am incredibly angry right now and upset at the same time. I am on the brink of tears and it feels like nothing is going right... I don't know what to do but wait by my phone for a call that will probably not do any good at all...

Today is not a good day. Sorry for the rant, but I am just curious to see if anyone else has had a similar experience. Their excuse was "the box must have broken open on the conveyor belt"..

Keep your chin up. I know what you mean when you say it feels like nothing is going right.

So Sorry for the stroke of bad luck there Syn. Just be gratful it wasn't something really important like Social security #'s and bank acct info. My girlfriend had this happen to her when she moved up here to utah and Ups delivered the package to a wrong address and all her personal info was never recovered and Ups did nothing

Yeah I keep telling myself at least it wasn't something important.. but for the time being I am out of luck for this trade.
What really sucks is I don't know if this person is even telling the truth about the whole ordeal... but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt.
The agreement was to send books and in return I'd get two geckos minus cost of shipping. I guess a loophole was found.

Here's a picture of the package and the contents.

thanks marc.. my brain is just all over the place right now and I'm busy with homework now, too.. things just are all piling up at once.

To be honest I think it seems off as well. I had gotten an OK from a friend but... I'm also paranoid about things like this.

The answer isn't yes, but it's not no.

So sorry to hear about your cousin Syn...were you close? How old?

Sorry about the package too.
Hope its a better day tomorrow.

Big warm hugs,
Lynda

May the stars carry your sadness away,
May the flowers fill your heart with beauty,
May hope forever wipe away your tears,
And, above all, may silence make you strong.

We weren't all too close, but I can tell it's affecting my mom and sister and in turn it's getting to me. I talked to him once a while ago but it was when I was younger...

I hope so too, Lynda.

That is a beautiful poem.

How old was he? I hope you and your Mom and sister will give each other support until this passes, Syn.
Glad you liked the poem.

In his late 20s, I'm not really sure what happened. :\

I am trying to support them but I'm just not sure how...

+1 to Lynda. Just listen to them and accept how they feel, even if you feel different. The most important is that they do not keep these feelings inside.

Hearing about relatives' death is confronting, even when you are young. It makes you realize that even you could die tomorrow...

Best of luck to you and your family Sabrina, we are with you!

Keep us updated with the shipping package please! :)

Must be in the air.

A friend of mine shipped a bunch of bags of magnolia leaves to a fellow frogger in the NJ area.

When the package was recieved it had been tamper with. Labels removed and taped back on. In the box was 2 bags ( I think) of the leaves and 15 pairs of purple cargo pants.

Shipping stuff is getting weird lately.

Thank you for the kind words everyone.

I am a little angry with the customer service w/USPS.. seems like I have to make 20 different calls to get to the right person, wait a day or two for their reply, then get a number to call someone else...

Sorry that happened with your friend.
That's what I was thinking as soon as I read this thread! So sorry Syn. :(
I was thinking that at first as well.

There is currently an ongoing situation now. I recently received this email:

I received the pictures. I will contact you with my findings
Thank you,

There could very well be a federal investigation as well, I was told by a friend who has dealt with something like this before. I am just wondering if the person missing their pants and coffee grounds had called and complained.
