Bad buggers?

My plants get munched in every once In awhile.. I’m guessing maybe it could be crickets? But there are also occasional gnat looking bugs flying around, anything I can to do prevent it?

I know veileds are also known to occasionally eat plants, but all the bite marks I have seen from them are more triangle shaped. Based from your profile picture I see you may have a veiled. Have you ever seen yours try the plants for a snack?

That looks like your cham is taking bites out of it. How old is your cham. My veiled will single handedly destroy a pothos plant. He loves eating those. I provide him with collard greens so he eats that. He doesn't eat the umbrella plant much. Only a few bites once in a while.

He’s adult now, I’ve only seen him eat his plants a few times but that was when he was younger, I feed roaches but I hand feed them. The marks are noticeably smaller than his mouth but then again I’m not sure.

Crickets will put a hurting on your plants quick! I can’t say for sure if it’s crickets eating your plants but I do know that those are not from your veiled.

Those gnat looking bugs are most likely baby crickets after they’ve already become larvae. A lot of people don’t know but very small crickets fly and look like gnats.

I have a few of these bite marks on my pothos too. I don't feed my veiled free range so it can't be from feeders. But I do have gnats in there, do they eat live plants?

Lol I’m very late on responding but baby crickets don’t look like crickets at all I only know this cause I had a cricket breeding box and there were a ton flying around I asked a bug man when he came to my house and he said they were baby crickets.

Well it might depend on the type of cricket but most crickets don’t have fully developed wings until there last molt. I have breed crickets and never had any fly.

when I first started keeping crickets, I got these little flies in mine too. turns out if theres any dead crickets in there, it creates humidity. then these little flies spawn from the dead crickets. very irritating. I clean out my cricket box daily and I don't have them anymore.
