So lately Normans temps in his basking spot have been more like in the mid 70's than mid 80s as it once was. I was wondering if maybe that could be contributing to his change in appetite (although age may be the real culprit). Anyway, I figured his basking lamp must be wearing out because even lowered to with about 4 inches of the cage top basking temps weren't coming up much. So I put in a 65 watt bulb, and temps are now in the low 80s where he sits, and I come home to find him basking with his mouth open like he's overheated. What gives? 8 months old...am I misunderstanding what the temperature should be?
