yesterday i just sent out what i had via email to some folk; today i can be a bit more refined. still only 6 of this clutch of 32 but that's not unusual for the others to take more time. eating little crix and hydei. had to shoot most pix through plastic, so excuse the shots.

the b&w/sepia photos were late last night when there was only a red heat light on them, so i had to convert the photos. but they looked so cute, 5 all wrapped up together!

Wow I would be thrilled to have those babies. They will be the talk of the town - I mean the forum. congrats.
 
So cute! I went in to work today and the baby veileds looked so big to me today by comparison.

Also, the cricket eggs I've been incubating at work have hatched out so if you need smaller ones or more of them just talk to Pete, we have hundreds of thousands now!

thanks---i had a gentle red lamp on them at night the first few nights when they were indoors, and the color shots were just blown out red. but converting them brought back all the detail, so it works for me! (and apparently you and others!)


as a general update, 32 eggs laid in that clutch, 3 quickly molded, 23 have hatched, 1 is hatching right now, and there's 5 eggs stiiillllll holding out. and of course at this point the size difference between a newborn and a 2-weeker is 150% at least.......but i'm set up to separate out the big piggies whenever it needs to be done. and i've got another egg clutch that's already needing the every other day monitoring.

some of you may know that i'm a big Repashy fan. not too surprising then that my fruit fly media is SuperFly along with their Calcium Plus dusting and Bug Burger/SuperLoad gut loading on pinheads and wild-caughts; but i really love that from the first bite they ever took every single meal they eat under my roof (or in my yard) is dusted with SuperPig as well. i love me their carotenoids and xanthenes in a big way! after a few more generations, i hope to produce the world's first glow-in-the-dark chams!!! ;)

I am happy to hear that you use the Repashy products because I have been using BB and Calcium Plus for a really long time, then, after reading a bunch of posts on this forum, I got the impression the general consensus was strictly ReptCal for chams!!
I was affraid to continue it's use until I had a talk with Lidia Kammer about BB as well as CP and they indorse both products.
She told me they use BB as the only gutload for their feeders.
No fruits and veggies except a little leafy greens, orange, stuff with lots of moisture.
But BB as the main "all in one" gut load.
This made me feel better, and I continue to use it with great success for all my chams :)

Well, whatever you did to that pic, it really looks like it's 80 years old!!
all you would need is maybe a few scratches and fading around the edges! :D

and i guess i should clarify that when i am describing my supplementations i was discussing the commercial products. but yes, my feeders do get some of this and a bit o' that as well.


another one hatched, another opened, down to 4 eggs......i need to post some videos. i've got a camera shooting 60 fps and caught the fastest-tongued baby east of the Mississippi! the 60fps couldn't even catch the action; it's mind-bogglingly fast even for someone who has seen thousands of tongue strikes in their life!!! i can also shoot at 1200fps (in much lower resolution) which would be fun for showing off the babes and fruit flies. i'll add it to my To Do list.......
 
Some videos would be awesome!
I'm so jealous, you're down to the last few and eggs aren't doing anything. We're approaching 8 months and nothing yet! Grr!
