Beardies

Current situation. Electra hasn’t quite decided whether to brumate or not, so is just spending the days like this, poking her cute little head out of her hide.

Spike, I believe may be fully awake, but as other things on his mind besides his salad. He and Electra are in separate rooms. While beardie babies are adorable, I have no needs for a couple dozen of them.

Can you show a picture of their cage setup, please?
Sorry, I almost forgot. 😬 I’ve learned to keep my beardie’s enclosure set ups as simple and easy to clean as possible. When I first got Spike’s Zen enclosure I tried it bioactively. Well, let’s just say that bearded dragons can have temper tantrums, so I have kept it bare. This is a 4’ long enclosure that Spike is dwarfing. I guess he’s a big boy. I did replace the back solid panel with acrylic, since he loves his view of the world.
Electra’s new enclosure arrived last week and I still have a lot to do to set it up.

NOOOOOO!!!! IT’S TOO SOON! GET BACK ON YOUR BASKING PLATFORM! BASK SPIKE, BASK!

Little stinker has been looking quite sleepy over the past couple of weeks and doing other things, like refusing to eat at times and not basking…like he’s getting ready to brumate again! I told him I absolutely forbid it as it’s not even July yet, but he isn’t listening and defiantly chose to nap inside his hide this afternoon. :cautious:

come on Spike bask and eat, no brumation buddy … it’s too early for that! 🫠 good luck hopefully he’s just having a little summer laze. It’s so sad when they are inactive , Shelby my box turtle goes under ground for months at a time, which I guess is normal for her… but I have the hardest time not checking… I feel like I’m gonna find her not alive anymore (she’s an old lady) but sure enough she’ll come back up everytime. Let us know what happens

I have no idea what he’s doing. He was basking when he woke up and not long ago he was in his hide and the stinker looked over at the salad I was bringing, as though to see if it’s worth coming out for. I made him come out and he’s been sitting there, slowly eating his salad. A little later I’ll sit outside with him.
