Don't be female veileds aren't rocket science though my first cham was a female back in the early nineties,Of course she died from being egg bound .Back then i didn't even have internet much less chameleon forums.I thought how could she have eggs she never even saw a male. You guys that are just getting into the hobby are very lucky to have this site its the best by far!Just provide her a small bucket with about 8 inches of moist white playsand and she will be fine as long as you give her the proper care see nothing to woorry about.I just checked and I believe you are right. When we got him, I was told he was male and he was so sickly that he was bony and I thought he had them..Great.. Now Im all scared again because of what happened with Betty..Ugh..
No worries about her being female! She looks healthy enough! Just place a pot of playsand or organic soil about 10 inches deep by 10 inches around-in the case she needs to lay an infertile clutch of eggs at some point. She should do fine-you have her all set up right now!
Ugh..does anyone know at what age that might start? Like I said, I was told HE was a 3 year old MALE when I bought him from the crazy closet people...
I keep a laying bin in all of my females cages-it is so much better to be safe then sorry. In fact I have both a Veiled and a Nosy digging this week with infertiles. I use a plastic flower pot 10" deep and 10" wide with either a mix of coconut fiber and sand, or sifted orgainc soil. In fact in 16X16X30 cages I place the pot in, then a plant stand over it, and put a Pothos in the plant stand so there is no excuse for their not being enough room. I am not an advocate of removing females to another container to lay eggs.

Heya BlackBetty,
nice looking veiled you have.
Everybody have offered you excellent advise.
I don't want you to worry too much of what i am going to say.
This is just a precaution.
It could be me staring at computer screen for too long and start nit picking on minute detail.
For a while, do keep extra attention to her diet and her lighting need.
I am sure that it is nothing much. But, i do not like the fact that her pelvic bone is too apparent in some of the pics and the kink on her left heel.
If you got a chance, bring her to exotic vet for check up and have her fecal tested (float test) for assurance.
All the best for you and your chameleon.
