Best way to hang branches?

I want to turn my closet into a cage for large chams. I have large 40" pieces of wood 4-5" in diameter (pieces of lilac we just chopped down). I want to hang them horizontally across the closet.

What is most practical/easy way to do this? I don't care about mess or messing up the wall. I'm probably not going to drill into the wall, but is wood glue or silicone the best bet? Some kind of contraption with magnets? I'm ditching the screen cage so I can't use the thumb tacs (I don't think...) to do this anymore.

My cage is mesh, so I use cable ties for the vines and for the branches I drill holes then use string or cable ties. You could possibly put in some sort of mesh/wire panels at two sides of the cabinet so that you can use cable ties and string? You could also drill in some small ledges to balance the branches across and possibly drill them into the ledges.

I have never tried to mount sticks to a wall before, but I think using a hot glue gun would probably work pretty well. Also, I am assuming you will have some plants in there too, so you can zip tie them to the plant branches for added stability. Another thought is to hang vines from hooks in the ceiling and use those to vertically support your branches as well.

gurrilla glue is a good option(water proof and expands alittle). So is hot glue (hell they make furniture out of it) if you are fast.

Guerilla glue right now sounds like an excellent option. I also like the idea of the ledges winter, but if I do that, I might as well just glue the branches directly to the wall. Maybe just a bead of it, that way if I want to move them or take them out I can just take a razor to it.

I don't like hot glue because I used hot glue on my feeder cups (bottles) and it's not good unless the surface is super clean and dry. It also cools real quick but I may try it just for a test run. My other concern is suspending the branches while the glue dries, and I'm not sure how I will do that yet. Hot glue may be the way to go just to put them in place, then maybe the guerilla on top of it to reinforce it.

You can even have some higher so that the sticks are diagonal.

Just be sure to find ones that would fit the rods you plan on using. They come in all different types of sizes and you just screw them into the wall. Or if you don't want to damage the walls, try using double sided sticky tape or acrylic cement (gorilla glue).

Fishing line through holes drilled in wood hung on picture hangars in wall. That way can remove to clean.

the best way to fasten them is get bamboo that is just a bit to large for the cage and stick it in there vertically and they will keep themselves up because of the tension. Then use vine to fastened branches on to them from there, not only does it look more natural but you do not have to worry about toxins from glue unless you want holes in your cage- then go buy bird perches and stick them through the cage walls and tighten the wing nut on the outside

Oh gosh I'm ridiculous, I jumped the gun on that. I didn't read anything except the title. I would just use the a bamboo garden fence and fasten it to the wall. You can actually put some of the wood between the diamond shapes and it will stay all by its self or you can zip tie it. It's also amazing because its extra stuff to climb on and looks great. I use it in my large enclosure. Also if you own your house I would suggest putting rustolems never wet in that closet and you do not ever have to worry about mold

You can actually put some of the wood between the diamond shapes and it will stay all by its self or you can zip tie it. It's also amazing because its extra stuff to climb on and looks great. I use it in my large enclosure. Also if you own your house I would suggest putting rustolems never wet in that closet and you do not ever have to worry about mold

You should see it now thats it's finished- there's a total of 6 live plants, around 60 ft of vine, 15 branches, 3 ladders and about 20 ft of rope! He's a very active guy. He seems to absolutely lovee the rope

What kind of enclosure is this? A x-large reptibreeze or one of those giant reptariums? It looks huge! I was thinking about getting another Cham and one of those enclosures to go along with it

it is a 260 gal reptarium
i only paid 100 for it
