biting

Haha while their young it doesn't, not sure about adults...sometimes Vincent will launch his tongue at my finger and chomp down on it...its like a tiny clamp...he's only about 5 months though.

Well weebo loves exploring the house but when its time for bedtime it takes forever for him to get him back in the cage so I grab a hanger n get him in that way but im wanting to just pick him but I'm.scared of the biting if it happens

Don't be, I would say the only thing to worry about is if your cham does bite, don't move your hand. You don't want to accidentally send him airborne. I've held mine regularly for about 5-15 minutes every other day for about 3 months and he does a lot of hissing, but no biting yet...unless he misses a cricket when I'm hand feeding and gets my finger instead.

He won't come to my hand at all he just stares at it lol so what's the steps on to handle him out if his cage cus like I said he won't come to me and he is getting bigger day by night and I don't want to get to the point of not handling him at all cus im scared and don't know what to do

Sometimes you have to show no fear....cause u wanna build up a trust between ur cham n u...
If i was a cham,I rather see a familiar hand everyday instead of a cold hard steel hanger...dont be afraid, approach him slowly n steady....u dont have to get him the very first time.....and u can always dust yourself off n try again until you and him are the best buddy:)

Its ok to be afraid,n i do think your cham are being more afraid of u ....its like making friends....if u both are afraid to make the first move...then you n the cham will just be the strangers in this life time....you can use his favorite feeder with your open palm so its hard for him to bite in that way ..conquer ur fear n rest will become smoothly as u learn the chemistry between ur cham n u!

Dont worry too much... Once he gets used to you he'll njoi your body temp. Chewbakka was wild "rescued" @ 2years in age... She bit me a couple of times when trying to administer meds... Never drew blood though only hard pinching sensation... But she got so used to being handled in a week or so... Now when I open her cage she comes out immediately as she sees it as extra body heat to scavenge... she really enjoys gitting in my hair!
I had to force her onto my hand in the start by putting my hand under her head and gently strocking her spine... She didnt like it at first but now she almost asks for attention when im close by...

To answer the question, yes, it can. I have a very aggressive, very large male veiled. Handling is done with leather gloves (his grip alone draws blood sometimes) only when I have to (vet, deep cage cleaning etc.) and it's still pretty hard through gloves.

Not all of them are as aggressive as him though :)

And some won't let go for a long, long, LONG time no matter how still you are. I thought I was going to lose a chunk of flesh as he bit down and sawed with his little razor teeth!

Om nom nom! I think I remember your thread on that incident!

You can't stay mad at that cute face ;)

He was like one of the bully dog breeds; he just closed his eyes and bit down hard and wouldn't let go. If I breathed or twitched, he bit down harder and sawed. I think the only reason he let go was he got tired. This went on for minutes, long enough for my kids to take pictures and put a non-receptive female in his cage, hoping to distract him. I didn't want to pry his mouth open for fear I would hurt him. He was holding on tightly to branches so I couldn't even pull him out of the cage to distract him.

And I was never mad at him. I thought it was funny to be honest. Much funnier when I had my whole hand back without a big chunk missing.

I understand exactly what you are talking about when you say you have one you use leather gloves with!

Thats where I think he'll bite me if I put my hand by his face he scares me a bit but I don't want him full grow taking advantage knowing I'm scared that's why I wanna know the best way to get him out by hand without him biting
