Bleeding, swelling, and white on face...

Wow! That's bad...something is very, very wrong! I'd want to take an x-ray and look at the bone quality of that area. That seems more severe than just an infection, even a bad one. I'd be worried about a tumor causing that much disruption.

I've never seen that much distortion of the face and that much bleeding around it. I worry about the skull itself being distorted at the area of the nose to cause that much bulging, which would make me suspicious of a tumor. It still could just be a very severe infection, I'm not saying for sure that it's not. It's just a more severe appearance than I've seen for an infection. Poor thing! Definitely let us know how her visit goes and what they do diagnostically!

Wow, that does not look good, poor little babe. Does the little lady have a name? Please keep us posted on her condition and I will keep her in my thoughts and best wishes. Very best of luck to you both.

ok. I will bring her in for an emergency visit tomorrow...
I hope everything turns out alright...
just a question, how much should that be?

Sorry but with you half way around the world, none of us can even make a guess. Please don't expect any cost offered on the forum unless it is from someone in your country.

A vet is the only chance to save your chams live. Please go as soon as possible.

that does NOT look like a happy face! :(

I'm with ferret that X-rays are likely a critical step in determining the severity of this. if it truly has only been days since the area became this way, I do believe it was probably smoldering away in deeper tissues for a while to look this aggressive. and frankly, a biopsy or needle aspirate is warranted as well. both ferret and I have seen tumors in this region before, however since she's only a year old cancer is somewhat less likely. but it appears very aggressive and atypical; I do not think you're looking at an easy fix. let the examining vet make that call and go from there. it's definitely worth the exam fee and perhaps a few diagnostic tests to know what you are up against.

good luck, and I look forward to your post tomorrow.

Vet Visit

I took Morpheus to the Vet today. They told me that she wasn't getting enough UV light and that was the reason for her white nose. The bad part was the cause of the bleeding and swelling. She has an infection in her nasal area and that was why it was swollen. They took a needle and popped open her skin where it was swollen and it all oozed out. There was a bunch of pus. They gave her 1 antibiotic shot and 2 other shots that would help with the pigment and swelling. They still aren't sure if she will be OK but everything today seemed to go well. It wasn't too expensive either which was good too. I take her back to the vet on Sunday for some more shots. I also got her an outdoor terrarium that I will slowly expose to her over time so she can get more UV light from the sun. That is all for now, I wil update again next time I go or the next time something happens.
Thanks for your support everyone! :)

When was the last time you replaced the UVB bulb? It might be time to get a new one, or you might even need a stronger one if it is not penetrating far enough into the cage.

It was 7 months ago. The vet said it should be fine for a couple other months plus the UV light is one of the strongest ones out there...

Oh I bet she feels so much better with all that stuff out of her face! We'll just have to see how she does over the next few weeks and hope for the best.

What brand of uvb bulb?

Most bulbs have to be replaced every 6-9 months.

Im glad you got her to a vet and that they are geting her taken care of.

Did they send you home with any antibiotics to give her?
