Camo my chameleon seems off the last couple of weeks. Hes always secluded on his perch where he normaly sleeps and doesnt move around the cage as often. he seems to have his eyes closed all the time and i see him rubbing his eyes on his vines once in a while. His color seems somewhat paler then normal and he seems to have lost his appetite. He would take 1 or two prey items once a day then loose interest in eating any more. usually he would eat around 10 crickets or superworms. I have filled out the required form below and included pictures of him and vitamin supplements im using currently. I would appreciate any and all help thank you!

Chameleon Info:
  • Your Chameleon - Blur bar ambilobe panther chameleon
  • Handling - Very seldomly
  • Feeding - Superworms and crickets
  • Supplements - Repashy calcium plus w/o d3 previously but gf bought the wrong kind this time and got repashy calcium plus with d3. pictures are included.
  • Watering - Im currently using a mistking system. it comes on 5 times a day in the morning for 3 minutes, 1 minute intervals 3 times during the day for humidity and a final 3 minute soak 2 hours before lights off.
  • Fecal Description - I have not found any feces lately but will edit when i do find some.
  • History - his eyes seem very dark when before they were striped. Seems like he naps all day. He does drink but his food intake is much slower then before.

Cage Info:
  • Cage Type - XL Reptibreeze screen cage
  • Lighting - 75 watt incadescent bulb and a 5.0 Uvb compact bulb.
  • Temperature - room temp is around 75 degrees F. Basking area is 88 to 90. bottom of cage is around 78. he stays around the middle at the 80 to 82 degreen level.
  • Humidity - i have a room hygrometer i keep at 60 percent because i also have ball pythons. but in his cage i run a fogger all day until the water runs out and the mister is set up to run 5 times a day.
  • Plants - Im using a live umbrella plant and fake vines and some plastic plants as well.
  • Placement - his cage is located in my room with ac vent above him i also run a fan all day.
  • Location - im located in orlando florida.

Current Problem - Noticeable lethargy and lack of appetite. Eyes constantly closed and he seems to itch them on his vines or branches. Seems to sleep all day and barely will bask. He is still quite alert and will focus on me when i walk into the room or open his cage to feed. but will only eat 1 or 2 pieces of food items then loose interest. Picture attatched of him is from today.

Have you been giving him a multivitamin supplement as well? Supplementing is very important. I supplement my Cham with calcium without D3 almost every feeding and a multivitamin with D3 once every two weeks. As for temperature it may be too hot in general. My basking area is about 85 and the middle of the enclosure is about 75.

Yes the attatched photos are of the multivitamins that i use. thank you for the response but i dont think that is the issue causing his symptoms.

Does his head seem a bit puffy to anyone else? I've not seen other pictures where the head bulges around the ridges... Not that I know what that might mean, just an observation.
