Anyone else sick of reading the same questions over and over? people give that much advise out and the next day you see the same questions up of another person, it seems to me a lot of these people don't do any research before getting the Cham, why do people have substrait in? Or unsuitable enclosures such as fish tanks etc I no you have to learn this stuff but come on, why not learn it before you get the Cham an give your new pet the best possible start. I'm just on this rant as I advised somebody I no with there chameleons as there making quite a few mistakes in basic husbandry an they've killed three of there chameleons so far, I really wish I could just take them an give them a proper home as two of there females are pregnant from one of my males an I no there going to die as he won't listen but what can you do

thats very unfortunate that you run into someone doing that. maybe trade him for another pet??? hopefully he will

Nothing. their ego is fueling their growing ignorance and disregard for the goal of life, knowledge.

I may be new to this forum, and to the needs of this type of animal, but I know to do research before jumping in. And I find that the answers you get can vary greatly! I also know that a lot of people give answers that they think you want to hear and also people hear only the answers that they agree with. What I found in this forum is a source of information that is from experience. For newcomers to the site, who are concerned for their pet, this is a great starting point. Sorry if I ask a question you have heard before, but for the sake of my new addition, I will keep asking.

I can't understand it either. I should be getting my first chameleon in the next few weeks, but I started the process of getting one about 4 months ago, when I started researching them. I have tried to learn everything I can about them before I get mine. I'm sure, of course, that once he's here, I will have more questions, but as far as basic care, I want to know all of that stuff beforehand.

No offense, but that's why people come here. Usually, most threads that weren't written by you don't apply to you or it isn't exactly what you were looking for. Yes, some questions are a little obvious, but we come here to help and gain knowledge of chameleons. Simple as that

Isn't it easyier to search for what you want if it's genaral husbandry related rather than starting yet another thread that's same as the million before? That way you get your answers fast an clear rather than waiting on people to reply

That's also a interesting point, you do here a lot of different information an the main source of poor information does come from reptile shops, the ones your surpose to be able to trust an also I've read quite a few chameleon books an they also have some poor information so at least your in the right place, ignor me I'm in a bad mood England are loss in in the football lol

While im getting back in online game (20+ years of scaly friends) I find most of the repeat questions are the ones not in the pinned or faq section (PS the resources section is horrible) but just questions on current topics (dubia, new lights/misters, new gut loads) that are not pinned or in the faq.

i agree with you 100% im new to the forum but i joined to gain even more information on chameleons! i haven't even went to a store to look at them yet and i already have 22 college ruled pages of notes on both sides all about chameleons and how to care for them!

I own 4 cats and have had to learn a lot by picturing the world through their eyes. Each personality is very different, and I'm sure this is true of chameleons as well! The best advice I got from anyone was to check out this forum. Most other web sources have been useless!

Don't you worry, there is a large new section currently in the works to address this topic specifically. There will be caresheets and FAQs and guidelines for keeping chameleons appropriately. We're really close to launching the project so stay tuned.

Keep in mind that while it is frustrating to see the same question over and over it is much better that the questions are being asked while people are researching, rather than people blindly forging ahead with terrible care leading to their animal's demise. And unfortunately, ranting threads like this scare people out of posting their questions for fear of people chastising them. It's intimidating to post on a forum and threads like this make it seem like we're hostile. You have a few choices here: don't read the threads that sound repetitive so you don't get annoyed, or post to them and help those looking for help to improve the care of their animals. Your choice. ;)

People come here to learn proper care. I did plenty of research, but the information online seems to be inaccurate. Also many people stumble upon this forum and are new to forums in general. I personally had never participated in a forum before this one and wasn't familiar with how to use it. Sometimes it takes some time and help to figure it out. Maybe give newbies a break and just be happy that they are trying to do what is best for their Cham.

I also found some of the answers to the questions when I figured out how the site worked. But I was worried about my guy so was not gonna be patient!

THANK YOU! I'm new to the forum and I don't mind seeing the repeats, not every thread is the same. The more info I can get the better. The more times you see something the better the chance you will remember. Usually when I come on this site it is has a very good vibe and is a very friendly community. It saddens me to see posts knocking down others who are trying to learn.

Unfortunately there were two threads made overnight were people were too intimidated to ask their question because of this exact thread. That's not cool. That doesn't help them and their chameleon.

This is excellent advice:
