And then you will easily loose a bunch of money. No one likes the rarer and harder to breed species. If I had that much to throw on chams Id have a huge panther operation with the rare stuff on the side. Part of that $ would be moving to a place where they can be housed outside year round too.

well, nosy mitsio are amazing looking panthers, and pretty damn hard to find here also
and true nosy be are getting harder to find these days also.
please say other wise and point me in the right direction, and not to a website that is charging $400 for a chameleon then say there is no profit to be made in them...

If I had 200K I would pay off my mortgage (or buy a small house if you don't already have one). Then you could start small and you wouldn't need to make a lot of $ right away because you'd have no mortgage to pay. Then, if you wanted to invest a lot into your business, you take out a HELOC on your mortgage at 3.25%. If your business didn't work out, you sell your house to pay it back, and go rent a place, and you'd be in no worse shape than you started.

I got it good being a vetran with a good paying steady job.
I have a interest free for 3 year SBL thru the SBA fed backed, all I would have to do is pull the trigger, sorta speak.

That is true. It would have to be probably twice as costly for heating and lighting where you are compared to somewhere much more south.

I would think that the following panthers would be good sellers

Mitso
Sambava
Nosy Be

The ambilobes & ambanjas market is pretty flush with breeders and appears a good amount of interest in nosy faly went on this year so maybe it would be one to breed.

You could add in some ambilobe x ambanja crosses they seem to make some nice lookers and reckon would sellok at expo's once they hit the 6month mark and up. But that means holding them longer so the colors are there.

You don't see alot of interest in tam's, cap est, diego, etc...

I don't know that you would get rich, but obviously people make a living off of breeding panthers. Look at the Chameleon Company, they've been at it as their sole bread and butter for something like 15 years now and run an enormous operation. Obviously something is working. Whether they're rolling in the big bucks is for them to tell us, but clearly they're doing alright. You couldn't maintain a few thousand animals without making money back, and then you couldn't do it for long without making a profit.
