Bruise?

If you don't think that you can care for him, it shows a lot of strength admitting that! I personally think he needs to go to a good rescue that can provide the care he needs from people with extensive experience and vet resources. I have seen a good one here, chameo.org I believe. They'll get him safe and stable and if your husbandry and knowledge base is where it needs to be after he recovers, you can adopt him back. They have very high standards, so you'll have to work with them but I think it's in the lizards best interest.

Oh, I didn't know places like this existed. That's a good suggestion ^-^

I don't think it was a bruise, maybe just anger marks?
They went away a few minutes later so i think it was just me over reacting

I have a habit of doing that too. My boy always turns areas near his belly black when he's mad and I mistake it for burns. They always go away in an hour. T-T

I really think he deserves better honestly. I'll look into that but they're based in California and i dont know if he'd survive a trip from new jersey to cali.
I was definitely not prepared to take in an inbred chameleon with genetic health defects, and again it's my fault for not looking into the breeder more

Those aren't color changes, they're injuries of some type. They didn't disappear in 4 hours. Post a pic of him now next to a handwritten number 3861 behind his leg... I mean I could be ugly and run the metadata on the images but we all already know he didn't make that kind of recovery in hours. Please do the right thing and get him help before he passes. I'm sure there's a more local rescue, where are you located? I'll try to find one for you.

I'll do that tomorrow because he's sleeping right now and he's pissy at me for taking the other ones today

I'm in Baltimore... I'm not an expert on Chameleons but I have the resources to help slurpee, even if just keeping him alive until I can get him in better hands. I've had reptiles since I was 12 and that's longer ago than I'd care to admit! Jersey's not that far, I could meet you somewhere.

This is such a nice offer. TuT

Your vet must be amazing or you must be very well off, genetic blood tests to detect lineage in veileds doesn't exist. Who's the vet and breeder?
